Dubai

Brown ends, COVID starts, and the Dubai adventures begin. I remember so vividly when you taught me literally how to work — you'd show me tricks and I'd be so impressed. You were a consultant, I was on week one. I ended up living at your house so long that Mama once threatened to kick me out, because I was treating my Khi home as a stopover and Dubai as my actual home. Boat parties with you, meeting your EMs at the time, drinking bottles at home together (we really did age), watching Hasan sing in the bathtub, playing Catan and fighting with Eltom, being obsessed with the shawarma place, doing up your villa mirrors (which eventually broke), creating an office for myself in your house. Thank you for opening your house to me, and for making COVID somehow one of the best times. Also loved our trips during this era, from our staycation (which was so cool btw), to Maldives (my literal favourite): I loved watching you snorkel for the first time, that was hilarious. I know you thought it was a waste, but i loved it. the days of sunshine were magical. 10/10 place, would go again all the time. What i even somehow loved was the torrential rain, and how we were forced to stay inside and play business deal and sequence all day long. Eating, drinking, and doing cocktail making classes. What a time to be alive.
